Farms.com is giving away three pairs of tickets to a comedy series that celebrates farming, 4-H, rural communities, and small-town Ontario life.

Farms.com and Advancing Women in Agriculture and Agri-Food Conference are offering agriculture enthusiasts, rural residents, and film fans a chance to attend a special screening of Cows Come Home at the Hamilton Film Festival.

Five lucky winners will each receive a pair of tickets to the Saturday, October 17 screening of the comedy series, which blends rural culture, farming traditions, and small-town humour with the unique world of competitive cow showing.

The six-part series follows a woman who reluctantly returns to her hometown of Fort Erie, Ontario, in search of a fresh start. What begins as a difficult move soon leads her into an unexpected world where she discovers friendship, purpose, and plenty of amusing adventures through competitive cattle showing.

For many in the agricultural community, the storyline will feel familiar. The series showcases the values, connections, and experiences that are often found in rural Canada, while introducing broader audiences to traditions that have long been part of agricultural life.

A particularly noteworthy aspect of Cows Come Home is its connection to the 4-H community. Competitive livestock showing has been a cornerstone of youth agricultural programs for generations, helping young people develop leadership, responsibility, animal husbandry skills, and lifelong friendships.

The female-led production was created and written by Lindsey Middleton and Katie Uhlmann. Middleton also stars in the series, while Uhlmann directs all six episodes. The creators say they wanted to bring authenticity, humour, and heart to a story inspired by rural life and agricultural communities.

"It is important for me to highlight the humour and heart of small-town life, while also inviting audiences into the unique world of competitive cow showing, something I really enjoyed throughout my childhood," said Middleton.

As agriculture continues to gain attention in Canadian entertainment and popular culture, productions such as Cows Come Home help tell stories that resonate with farm families while introducing urban audiences to the people, traditions, and communities that help shape rural Canada.

For Farms.com readers with an interest in agriculture, livestock, rural communities, or simply a good laugh, the screening offers an entertaining opportunity to see a uniquely Canadian story on the big screen.

Sponsoring the giveaway is the Advancing Women in Agriculture and Agri-Food Conference (AWC), Canada's leading events focused on leadership, networking, and professional development for women in agriculture. By supporting the screening, AWC is helping bring greater attention to a series that celebrates rural communities, agricultural traditions, and the unique stories that emerge from farm life.

The next AWC East will be held November 22, 23 & 24, 2026, Sheraton Fallsview, in Niagara Falls, if you click here to learn more.  If you like this series, you will love attending AWC!
