AAW recognizes two inspiring leaders for service and dedication in agriculture
American Agri-Women (AAW) presented its annual Leaven Award to two outstanding members who have shown exceptional leadership and dedication to supporting agriculture. The Leaven Award is among AAW’s highest honors. It recognizes individuals whose work, service, and guidance help strengthen the organization and the wider farming community.
This year, two leaders received this prestigious recognition. The first recipient is Kim Bremmer of Wisconsin, who currently serves as the President of American Agri-Women. Her contribution to the organization has been significant, as she has worked for many years to support member development, national initiatives, and overall organizational growth. Her leadership reflects AAW’s mission to empower women in agriculture.
Bremmer is also the founder of Ag Inspirations, where she works with farmers, ranchers, and agricultural professionals across the country. She provides training that helps them improve communication skills and confidently share their experiences. Her efforts help build stronger connections between producers and consumers by encouraging open conversations about modern agriculture. Within AAW, she has served in several leadership roles and continues to mentor new members.
The second award recipient is Helle Goddik Ruddenklau of Oregon, a respected leader within both Oregon Women for Agriculture and American Agri-Women. Originally from Denmark, she brings a global perspective to discussions about policy, rural issues, and the needs of farming families. Her work includes leading educational outreach, advocacy programs, and statewide engagement efforts that help members understand important topics such as land use and water resources.
Ruddenklau is widely admired for her calm leadership style, thoughtful approach, and strong commitment to supporting women in agriculture. Her service has strengthened participation within the organization and encouraged more members to become involved in key initiatives.
American Agri-Women celebrates both recipients for their contributions, leadership, and dedication to agriculture. Their work continues to inspire women across the country to take active roles in shaping the future of farming.
