Agriculture in the Classroom – Manitoba Receives $20,000 grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation to Inspire the Next Generation Through Amazing Agriculture Adventure

Agriculture in the Classroom – Manitoba (AITC-M) is proud to announce it has received a $20,000 grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation®, through the TELUS Manitoba and Saskatchewan Community Board, in support of its flagship program, Amazing Agriculture Adventure (AAA). This generous contribution will help AITC-M continue delivering engaging, hands-on agriculture education to over 1,200 students during this year’s four-day program.

Held exclusively at the Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre, AAA invites students in Grades 3–6 and 9–12 to participate in a full-day, curriculum-connected field trip where they explore agriculture through 10 interactive stations. Topics include food production, animal care, crop science, sustainability, and career pathways in the agri-food sector — all led by knowledgeable volunteers and industry professionals.

A key feature of AAA is the integration of modern technology, helping students understand how innovation is transforming agriculture. From digital tools used in animal management to and agri-tech careers, students get a glimpse of the cutting-edge advancements shaping the future of food.

“Thanks to TELUS, we’re able to offer this one-of-a-kind program free of charge to participating schools, helping remove barriers and broaden access to meaningful ag education,” said Katharine Cherewyk, Executive Director at AITC-M. “This support allows us to spark curiosity, build knowledge, and show students that agriculture is a dynamic and essential industry full of innovation and opportunity.”
