Each year, the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports on the end-use quality of Canadian grain in the annual harvest and in exports.
The final report for CWRS wheat indicates the quality of the 2025 crop was excellent, with 91 per cent of the crop in the top 2 grades.
The quality of Canada Western Amber Durum wheat in 2025 was reported as good, with 46 per cent and 83 per cent of the crop in the top 2 and 3 grades, respectively.
When it comes to barley, the CGC reports barley grain quality indicators were notably strong, with both the average test weight and the average 1000‑kernel weight higher than the 10‑year averages.
The CGC also released a quality report for canola, with data as of December 12, 2025.
