CDC Seeking Antimicrobial Resistance Project Proposals

CDC released a new Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) funding opportunity for applied research to address emerging public health priorities. Funded research projects may include identifying and evaluating strategies and advancing innovation to combat antimicrobial resistance (AR). Domestic and international applicants should apply by February 3, 2023 at 3 p.m. EST.

CDC works on AR-related topics across the One Health spectrum, including:

  • Animals
  • Environment (e.g., water and soil)
  • Health equity
  • Healthcare-associated infections, including in hospitals
  • Improving antibiotic and antifungal drug use
  • Improving detection or data collection of AR-related infections
  • Preventing spread of AR pathogens
  • Sepsis

 

Funding for this opportunity will be determined through a competitive selection process based on funds available.

He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Animal Sciences from the University of California, Davis, where he focused on intestinal health and metabolic responses in pigs. His research evaluates alternatives to antibiotics, targeting gut health and performance in nursery pigs.
