County of Grande Prairie connecting producers amid wildfire evacuations

In response to the recent wildfires, the County of Grande Prairie is leading an initiative to connect livestock producers in need of feed with those who have surplus.

The wildfires have created an urgent demand for feed on several operations. To address this, the County is facilitating connections between producers with available feed and those affected by the fires.

Producers with feed to offer are encouraged to email AGFieldman@countygp.ab.ca with their contact information and details about the feed. County staff will then relay this information to producers in need. They will not be involved in any transactions themselves, ensuring that the process remains straightforward and transparent.

Alberta Beef Producers is assisting this initiative by leveraging its communication platforms to spread the word and facilitate connections. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that producers have the necessary resources to sustain their livestock during this challenging time.
