AED Expands State Government Affairs Program Nationwide, Creating a Stronger Voice for Equipment Dealers

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) has expanded its government affairs program to include representation in all 50 states, strengthening the association’s ability to advocate for equipment dealers on state legislative and regulatory issues.

The nationwide effort, supported by partnerships with regional associations, industry stakeholders and allied organizations, will increase AED’s presence in state policy discussions while providing members with more opportunities to engage directly with elected officials and regulators.

Members can expect increased policy insights and engagement opportunities through legislative meetings, facility visits, hearing testimony, advocacy events and other targeted outreach efforts.

“Expanding our government affairs program nationwide gives AED and our members a stronger presence in state policy discussions,” said Brian P. McGuire, AED President and CEO. “Most importantly, it creates more opportunities for dealers to share their experiences directly with policymakers and demonstrate the important role equipment dealers play in their communities.”

The expansion builds on the success of AED’s Far West legislative visit program, which connects dealers with legislative leaders and executive branch officials. AED will now expand that approach nationwide by bringing policymakers to equipment dealerships to meet employees, see operations firsthand and hear directly from dealers about the issues affecting their businesses.

“Dealers are the experts when it comes to their businesses and the communities they serve,” said Eric Wareham, AED Vice President of Policy. “Our expanded state government affairs program will help create meaningful connections between dealers and policymakers while keeping our members informed about legislative and regulatory developments across the country.”

AED will continue working with members, regional associations and industry partners to identify opportunities for dealer engagement and strengthen the equipment industry’s voice at the state level.
