Deere Dealer Employee Charged with Arson in Dealership Fire

According to an Oct. 28 report from the Hastings Tribune, the case of Mitchell Linder, a former employee at 20-store Deere dealer Landmark Implement, has been sent to the Adams County District Court. Linder faces charges of second-degree arson (a Class 3 felony) and criminal mischief (a Class 4 felony) in connection to a fire that occurred at Landmark Implement's Hastings, Neb., location on July 13, 2022. Combined, the charges are punishable by up to 6 years in prison and $35,000 in fines.

According to the arrest affidavit, Linder was determined to be the last person in the Hastings store before the fire occurred. Linder was arrested Aug. 18 and "said he started a box on fire about 8:06 p.m., but put it out and left. He came back about 9:20 p.m. and ignited the box again and left the building."
