Stories from the Field: How One Indiana Farmer Uses SurePoint Ag Technology to Boost Efficiency and Accuracy

Every farmer knows there’s no shortcut to getting the job done right. But for growers like Jayson Willimack of Oxford Junction, Indiana, getting it done right and fast is a matter of survival. With a short planting window and thousands of acres to cover, Willimack has built his operation around precision, efficiency, and practical technology.

Between his own acres and custom work, Jayson and his team plant more than 10,000 acres each spring. Keeping up with that workload while maintaining accuracy required a rethink of his nitrogen application and chemical mixing processes. That’s where SurePoint Ag Systems came in.

A Smarter Nitrogen System

“We apply all our nitrogen with our planters. Basically, they took our brand-new Deere planters straight from the plant, took it to Trackside, and put our nitrogen system on it with a high-speed pump,” Willimack says.

That single upgrade - switching from a homemade system to a SurePoint-engineered nitrogen application setup - made an immediate difference.

Before the switch, Jayson’s team was running a pieced-together system using a rate controller, a hydraulic pump from an old sprayer, and various homemade modifications. It worked on paper but struggled to keep up in the field. “We could only run about 6 to 6.5 miles per hour with a high-speed planter,” he said. “It just couldn’t keep up.”

When Jayson began evaluating new planters, he connected with the SurePoint Ag team, who helped design a nitrogen delivery system tailored to his speed, acres, and target rates. The system features a high-capacity PumpRight™ pump and customized plumbing designed for consistent flow across every row - even at higher speeds and rates.
