New tillage and nutrient solutions boost efficiency and soil health at Farm Progress
Summers Manufacturing is introducing five new pieces of agricultural equipment designed to help farmers work faster, care for their soils, and streamline daily operations. The lineup spans tillage, nutrient application, and support systems, giving growers practical choices for modern field challenges.
The 3RT Samurai is built as a true zero-maintenance vertical tillage tool. Its robust design promotes even residue distribution and consistent soil aeration without the need for daily greasing or frequent service. By keeping residue moving and air in the root zone, it helps fields transition smoothly between seasons.
To support aerial application, the Drone Spray Fill Xpress shortens refilling time and standardizes mix ratios. Faster, cleaner turnarounds keep spray drones in the air longer, improving coverage while maintaining uniform solution quality for reliable results.
For primary tillage with soil care in mind, the Summers Elite Chisel Series offers blade choices—Disk, Samurai, or Coulter—to size and incorporate residue while maintaining soil structure and organic matter. With widths up to 44 feet, it is engineered to cover more acres with less horsepower per acre than deep ripping, helping operators manage fuel and time.
The Strip Till unit focuses on precision nutrient placement. By banding fertility in the future root zone, it supports stronger early growth, increases nutrient uptake efficiency, and reduces losses to the environment. Targeted placement can also lower overall fertilizer needs.
Rounding out the lineup, the Disk Ripper breaks compaction to improve root penetration and water infiltration. Its deep action is paired with a refined finishing system that leaves fields level and ready for the next pass, enhancing long-term soil tilth and crop performance.
Summers states its goal is equipment that helps farms become more “efficient, sustainable, and profitable.” The full lineup will be on display at the Farm Progress Show, August 26–28, booth 513, in Decatur, Illinois.
