JCB Building New Texas Factory Next Yea

JCB announced it will build a new 720,000-square-foot factory in San Antonio, Texas. Construction at the 400-acre site will begin early in 2024 and will create 1,500 new jobs over the next 5 years, JCB says.

Details of the products to be manufactured at the new plant will be announced at a later date. However, JCB says the new facility will make machines largely for customers in North America, and it will be the second JCB factory in North America, where the company began manufacturing in Savannah, Ga., in 2001.

“North America is integral to the growth and success of JCB’s business in the future, and the time is now right for JCB to expand its manufacturing presence there,” says Graeme Macdonald, JCB CEO.

JCB has 22 factories around the world, including 11 in the U.K., and others in India, Brazil and China.
