New production investments boost equipment output and support job growth
Kubota North America is expanding its manufacturing operations in Salina, Kansas, as part of its ongoing investment in North America. The expansion will increase production capacity for construction equipment while helping the company serve customers and dealers more efficiently.
A key part of the project involves the production of the SVL75-3 compact track loader, one of the most popular machines in its category. The model will be produced alongside another compact track loader using a mixed-model manufacturing system designed to improve efficiency and flexibility.
Company leaders, government officials, and community representatives gathered to celebrate the expansion. The investment is expected to create additional employment opportunities and strengthen Kansas' position as an important manufacturing center. Local leaders noted that the state's skilled workforce and strong industrial base continue to attract major investments.
Kubota said the expansion is intended to bring manufacturing closer to customers while improving supply chain operations across the United States and Canada. By increasing production, the company aims to respond more quickly to market demand and support future growth.
Earlier this year, Kubota also began work on a new construction equipment testing facility in Salina. The center will focus on equipment design, engineering, and product testing. Once completed, it will allow the company to perform durability, reliability, and performance evaluations under conditions that reflect real-world job sites.
The latest project is part of a broader long-term strategy to develop Salina into a major construction equipment hub. Over the past several years, Kubota has expanded its presence in the region through research, development, manufacturing, and infrastructure investments. The company has committed more than $300 million to construction equipment-related projects in Salina.
