About 57 percent of the corn was stored on farms. The second quarter disappearance was 102.3 million bushels, compared with 109.0 million bushels a year earlier. Soybean stocks on March 1, 2016, were 36.3 million bushels. That was 9 percent higher than stocks a year earlier .

The second quarter indicated disappearance was 28.0 million bushel s . Farm stocks of soybeans were 16.0 million bushels. Wheat stocks on March 1, 2016, were 24.4 million bushels, 18 percent above a year ago. Approximately 98 percent of wheat stocks were in commercial storage . Third quarter indicated disappearance was 8.8 million bushels, 17.0 percent of supply. U.S. corn stocks in all positions on March 1, 2016, totaled 7.81 billion bushels, up 1 percent from March 1, 2015. Of the total stocks, 4.34 billion bushels were stored on farms, down 1 perc ent from a year earlier. Off - farm stocks, 3.47 billion bushels, were up 3 percent from a year ago.

The December 2015 - February 2016 indicated disappearance was 3.43 billion bushels, compared with 3.46 billion bushels during the same period last year. Soyb eans stored in all positions on March 1, 2016, totaled 1.53 billion bushels, up 15 percent from March 1, 2015. Soybean stocks stored on farms were estimated at 728 million bushels, up 19 percent from a year ago. Off - farm stocks, 803 million bushels, were u p 12 percent from last March.
