Sask Pork is accepting nominations until October 15'th for its annual Awards of Distinction, to be presented next month during Saskatchewan Pork Industry Symposium 2026 in Saskatoon. Among the highlights of Saskatchewan Pork Industry Symposium 2026, set for November 3rd and 4th in Saskatoon, will be the annual Awards of Distinction.
Sask Pork Communications and Marketing Coordinator Steve Seto says the annual awards of distinction provide an opportunity for those within the pork sector to recognise the hard work of those who have made significant contributions to their industry as well as the general public who benefit from the best quality pork in the world.
Quote-Steve Seto-Sask Pork:
Our Awards of Distinction are very important. It gives us an opportunity to highlight the people who are doing brilliant work within our industry that covers a bunch of different aspects across the pork industry. When we talk about production excellence, the environmental stewardship of making sure that we're not only taking care of our hogs on the farm, but as well the environment and everything that goes along with it, whether it be water quality, air quality, anything like that.
We've got community spirit, just making sure that people are uplifting our industry, whether it may be outside of the barn, doing something maybe indirect to help boost our industry and shine a light on the good work all of our producers are doing. And then as well, people who have been in our industry for years and decades and continue to put their blood, sweat and tears into this industry to make it as strong as it is and as nationally and globally recognized as we are.
This is something that we don't want to shy away from and make sure that we are acknowledging these people and the work they've done in order to really highlight all of the work that we continue to do day in and day out.
Seto notes anyone interested in submitting a nomination for this year's awards of Distinction can access the nomination form at saskpork.com.
