Randall County Agriculture Day and Crops Tour set on Aug. 26 in Canyon

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the 48th annual Randall County Agriculture Day and Crops Tour on Aug. 26 in Canyon.

The free event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office for Randall County, 200 N. Brown Road. Registration is available by calling the office at 806-468-5543 or online at https://tx.ag/RCAgDay2025. The deadline to register is Aug. 22. 

Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available to private pesticide license holders  two general and one drift minimization. 

Morning session topics and speakers

The morning session will include the following topics and speakers:

• Current weather patterns and outlook — Joanne Culin, warning coordination meteorologist, U.S. National Weather Service, Amarillo.
• Value in establishing an effective grazing management plan: Impact of cattle supplementation — Jason Smith, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension beef cattle specialist and associate professor, Texas A&M Department of Animal Science, Amarillo. 
• Economic comparison of farming vs. ranching — Merri Beth Day, AgriLife Extension economics specialist and assistant professor, Texas A&M Department of Agricultural Economics, Amarillo.
