Randall County Agriculture Day and Crops Tour set on Aug. 26 in Canyon

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the 48th annual Randall County Agriculture Day and Crops Tour on Aug. 26 in Canyon.

The free event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension office for Randall County, 200 N. Brown Road. Registration is available by calling the office at 806-468-5543 or online at https://tx.ag/RCAgDay2025. The deadline to register is Aug. 22. 

Three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available to private pesticide license holders  two general and one drift minimization.

Presented by Joanna Follings, Cereals Specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA).

Joanna explores triticale’s potential as a high-yielding forage crop, with a focus on agronomic management practices to optimize performance in livestock systems. Comparisons with other cereals and strategies for integration into double-cropping systems are also discussed.

The purpose of the Forage Focus conference is to bring fresh ideas and new research results to Ontario forage producers across the ruminant livestock and commercial hay sectors.
