Sign up for The Soy Effect — Lessons in Swine Nutrition at World Pork Expo

Dr. R. Dean Boyd, swine nutritionist with Animal Nutrition Research, will moderate four small interactive group discussions at World Pork Expo titled Lessons in Swine Nutrition. The hour-long sessions offered will be held June 4th and 5th in the U.S. Soy Hospitality Tent #G520 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa.

“World Pork Expo is the perfect opportunity to share research that uncovers the remarkable health and growth-supporting aspects of soybean meal,” said Dr. Nathan Augspurger, senior director, Animal Nutrition and Health at the United Soybean Board. “We are going to tackle the economic impact of the summer weight dip and how to solve it. Plus, we’ll share practical amino acid insights straight from on-farm experiences and how a least-cost formulation approach may be limiting ROI in some systems."

Video: Did You Know Sheep Can Smile?!

Can sheep actually smile? You’ll have to see it to believe it! In today’s vlog at Ewetopia Farms, we captured one of our Suffolk rams flashing the biggest grin — and it’s not the only reason everyone is smiling. From harvesting our barley (and getting a surprisingly decent yield despite the drought) to seeing our alfalfa protected and thriving, it feels like everything lined up for once. Add in cooler weather, happy sheep, and even some silly ram courting rituals, and you’ve got a farm day full of joy, laughter, and a little bit of surprise. ??
