Sterling, Colo. Moves on Ag Equipment Tax Exemption to Facilitate 21st Century Equipment Plans

The Sterling, Colo. Journal-Advocate reported that following the Sterling City Council's decision to consider exempting “farm equipment and farm equipment under lease or contract” from the city’s sales tax, the land annexation for the new complex 21st Century Equipment is planning in Sterling will likely move forward July 11. The new complex is planned to be built just southwest of 21st Century's current location at the south edge of Sterling.

Previously, 21st Century had asked the city to exempt agricultural equipment from city sales tax so the company could remain competitive once it had been brought inside the city limits, the Journal-Advocate reported. Logan County, where Sterling is located, already allows such an exemption, the story said.
