New Packages and Powertrain Options for 2026 F-150
If you are considering a Ford F-150 for 2026, here’s what you need to know about the latest updates and options. The 2026 F-150 largely carries over from the previous model year, with no full redesign expected until 2028.
However, there are several enhancements in trim availability, appearance packages, powertrain features, and technology that make this model year worth noting.
Key Updates for 2026 Ford F-150
Drivetrain Options: Higher trims such as Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum are now available with a rear-wheel-drive (4x2) configuration, previously only offered as 4x4 models. This adjustment may reduce entry-level pricing for these premium trims while giving buyers more flexibility.
New Appearance Packages:
Lobo Package: An upgrade to the STX trim, featuring lowered suspension, unique street-truck-inspired styling on the grille, bumpers, and side skirts, 22-inch wheels, and the 5.0-liter V8 engine.
Platinum Satin Appearance Package: Adds satin hood vents, a polished grille, satin door handles, and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels for a refined look.
XLT Chrome Package: Chrome accents on running boards, door handles, exhaust tip, and 20-inch wheels enhance visual appeal.
Powertrain Adjustments: The 3.5L EcoBoost and PowerBoost hybrid engines see minor horsepower reductions (18 hp and 10 hp, respectively) due to the addition of a gasoline particulate filter to meet emissions standards.
Exterior Colors: New shades include Avalanche, Argon Blue Metallic, and Ruby Red Metallic, while Atlas Blue Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic, and Space White Metallic are retired.
Technology: Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system is now more widely available, and access can be purchased as a one-time option.
F-150 Lightning: The all-electric F-150 Lightning introduces a new STX trim with a larger extended-range battery (131 kWh) and NACS charging port compatibility for Tesla Superchargers, expanding charging options for EV owners.
The 2026 Ford F-150 focuses on improved customization, wider access to features, and incremental performance upgrades, making it a versatile choice for both farm work and daily driving.
