5 NFL Players Connected To Farming

Billy Baber

Billy Baber

Billy Baber was drafted in 2001 by the Kansas City Chiefs. Throughout his four seasons in the league, Baber’s career made stops in San Diego and Tampa Bay. Before debuting on the gridiron, Baber learned the value of hard work growing up on a farm.

“I grew up on a farm and I could never quit,” he said while visiting with high school football teams in Missouri. “I threw hay bales every day, all day. I didn’t get paid. My dad never gave me a dime. He gave me a roof over my head, clothes on my back and food to eat.”
