Marie-Claude Bibeau became Canada’s first female federal ag minister in March 2019 after a cabinet shuffle.
Bibeau served as the minister of international development and la francophonie from 2015 to 2018 before taking over the ag portfolio.
Since becoming ag minister, Bibeau has handled some challenging issues including trade issues with China and compensating dairy producers for concessions Canada made during the CETA and CPTPP trade negotiations.
