A farmer from Barre, N.Y. found a mysterious safe standing in one of his fields in August 2020.
Kirk Mathes was out of town when the safe appeared. He has no idea how it got there.
The safe is a product of Cary Safe Co., a now defunct company founded in the state. The safe also had a note attached saying whoever opens it can have what’s inside.
Groups of people failed in their attempts to open the safe. Mathes has stored it away for now and has no plans of opening it any time soon.
“If you open it, the show is over. In these times, with the virus and the politics, it might givet people a chance to set their problems or troubles aside and have a lot of fun talking about it,” Mathes said, ABC News reported.
