Italian dairy producers dumped milk into Sardinian streets in February 2019 to express their concern over low milk prices.
At the time, they earned about US$0.71 per litre of milk.
Some farmers held signs reading “I’d rather dump it than sell it for next to nothing.”
The farmers felt large processors worked together to keep milk prices down for producers.
