A GMC Sierra was used to break into a building at the Rich Valley Agricultural Society
Parkland RCMP is appealing to the public related to a crime on the property of an Alberta ag society.
Police say suspects drove a gold or silver GMC Sierra onto the Rich Valley Agricultural Society’s property and drove through the outbuilding’s bay door on March 10 between 2:00 and 2:45 a.m.
The truck also had a short box and an extended cab.
“This has been one of multiple reports from this area regarding breaking and entering, and damage to property,” Parkland RCMP said.
Representatives with the ag society corroborated that statement.
“We have experienced multiple on site break ins along with an attempted theft of equipment,” the Rich Valley Arena’s Facebook page says. “Also Rich Valley Agricultural Society would like to ask the community to keep an eye our when travelling by the arena.”
Criminals have targeted other ag societies in the past.
This January, for example, Dustin Curtis plead guilty in relation to a break-in at the Ansemlo Agricultural Society that occurred in September 2025.
Also in 2025, thieves targeted the Cold Lake Agricultural Society on at least two occasions.
One of those instances resulted in the loss of camera equipment worth $50,000.
