Ridivex Combines Burndown Activity, Residual Weed Control, and Crop Safety in a Single Corn Herbicide Solution.

BASF introduces Ridivex Herbicide, a new post-emergence weed control solution designed to help corn growers tackle the increasing challenge of herbicide-resistant weeds.

The product was developed to provide growers with another tool to manage difficult weed populations that have become resistant to commonly used herbicides, including HPPD inhibitors and glyphosate.

Josh Putman of BASF explained to Farms.com that Ridivex is built around three key benefits.

The first is its strong burndown activity, which comes from the combination of dicamba and diflufenzopyr active ingredients.

Together, these components deliver effective control of emerged weeds and help reduce competition during critical stages of crop development.

The second benefit is the product’s residual performance.

Ridivex provides extended control of more than 80+ broadleaf and grass weed species, including troublesome weeds such as Palmer amaranth and waterhemp.

By maintaining weed suppression after application, the herbicide helps protect yield potential and reduces pressure from late-emerging weeds.

The third advantage is its convenient premixed formulation.

BASF notes that the product also contains a crop safener, which helps corn plants metabolize the herbicide more efficiently and minimizes the risk of crop injury following application.

As herbicide resistance continues to spread across corn-producing regions, Putman emphasized the importance of incorporating multiple modes of action into weed management programs.

Putman noted that Ridivex can play an important role alongside both pre-emergence and post-emergence applications as part of a season-long strategy.

By delivering knockdown activity, residual weed control, and crop safety in a single product, Ridivex aims to help growers keep fields cleaner, protect yield potential, and manage resistant weed populations now and in the future.
