xarvio CONNECT 2.0 simplifies data transfer between fields and machines
BASF Agricultural Solutions has introduced xarvio CONNECT 2.0 in North America, a new digital farming device designed to improve how farmers connect field data with farm equipment.
The portable hardware device works with xarvio FIELD MANAGER and compatible machinery terminals, creating a secure connection that allows fast and reliable data transfer. Farmers can easily send application maps to machinery and receive operational information back from the field.
One of the biggest challenges in modern farming is machine connectivity. xarvio CONNECT 2.0 addresses this issue through a USB connection and an integrated SIM card that securely exchanges data between field management software and equipment terminals. The system does not require a smartphone or tablet and continues to function even when network coverage is limited.
The device supports common agricultural file formats, including ISOXML and Shapefile, making it compatible with a wide range of equipment used for seeding, crop protection and crop nutrition applications.
Farmers simply connect the device to a machinery terminal through a USB port. Application maps are transferred automatically within minutes, helping streamline field operations and reduce manual work.
In addition to transferring maps, xarvio CONNECT 2.0 records operational data such as harvest information, moisture levels and application rates. This information can be reviewed in xarvio FIELD MANAGER to support better decision-making, improve planning and provide estimates for costs, yield and revenue.

The device also includes integrated GPS technology that helps farmers track machine locations, improve logistics and increase operational efficiency in the field.
Developed with farmer input, xarvio CONNECT 2.0 builds on technology that has already been successfully used in Europe. The updated version was tested across North America during the 2024 and 2025 growing seasons on a variety of farm machines, including older equipment.
By improving connectivity and making digital tools easier to use, BASF aims to help farmers increase productivity, profitability and sustainability while getting more value from the machinery they already own.
