BRP Expands EV Range with New Outlander Electric ATV
BRP Inc. is accelerating its electrification strategy with the debut of the 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric, an ATV designed to combine performance, durability, and near-silent operation.
This launch strengthens BRP’s long-term vision of creating purpose-built electric vehicles that deliver the same thrill as combustion models, but with a quieter, more sustainable twist.
The Outlander Electric joins BRP’s growing electric lineup, which already includes the Can-Am Pulse and Origin motorcycles, four Ski-Doo and Lynx electric snowmobiles, and the Rotax E10 racing powerpack for karts.
“At BRP, our approach to electrification is intentional and strategic – we electrify where it makes business sense and adds real value to customers,” said José Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP. “The Outlander Electric is a powerful, quiet, and capable ATV that reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability. This is another important step in our journey to play a leadership role in this technological evolution and to bolster our offering with completely new experiences, electrified with our very own technology.”
Built with BRP’s modular Rotax E-Power powerpack, the Outlander Electric delivers 47 hp, 53 lb-ft of torque, and up to 50 miles of range under optimal conditions. Riders can choose from Normal, Sport, and Work modes, charging from 20% to 80% in just 50 minutes on a Level 2 charger.
Its quiet ride sets it apart, enhanced by noise-reducing XPS Recon Force tires, an optimized suspension system, and a low-noise cooling setup. Despite its silence, the ATV retains the rugged Can-Am DNA with 1,830 lbs of towing capacity and over 120 available accessories for customization.
“With the Outlander Electric, we’re not just launching a new ATV, we’re introducing a new way to experience the outdoors and get the job done,” said Julie Tourville, Director, Global Marketing, Can-Am Off-Road at BRP. “This vehicle is built to let riders and workers feel more connected to their surroundings. It’s powerful, quiet, and true to what we do at BRP. It shows how we bring purposeful innovation to life.”
Following the 2023 introduction of Can-Am electric motorcycles and Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, BRP has emerged as the powersports OEM with the broadest electric range across categories. With in-house development and assembly facilities worldwide, BRP continues to lead the charge in redefining powersports for the electric era.
