Updated online courses offer flexible farm safety education across Canada
The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) has relaunched its online farm safety training program to support ongoing education and improve safety awareness across the agricultural sector.
The updated courses were reviewed and refreshed to ensure participants receive current safety information and practical guidance. The training covers a wide range of topics, including farm safety orientation, machinery safeguarding, seasonal agricultural worker safety, and dairy worker safety. These courses are designed to help farmers, farm workers, and farm families build essential safety knowledge for daily farm operations.
“Refreshing our online farm safety courses reflects CASA’s commitment to helping enhance safety across Canada’s agricultural sector through accessible, practical education,” said Sandra Miller, CASA’s Executive Director. “The updated training module enables individuals to build critical safety skills and stay current with best practices to create safer agricultural workplaces across Canada.”
The online learning platform offers flexible, on-demand access, allowing participants to complete training whenever it fits their schedules. Courses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making it easier for busy agricultural professionals to continue their education. Participants who successfully finish a course also receive a certificate of completion.
The relaunch aligns with BeGrainSafe Week, August 10 to 16, 2026, an annual campaign focused on increasing awareness of grain-related hazards. As part of its commitment to improving safety, CASA continues to offer free training on grain handling and storage hazards. The course helps individuals better understand potential risks and ways to prevent serious incidents involving grain storage and handling.
Farm safety experts emphasize that safety education should be an ongoing process rather than a one-time lesson. Continuous learning helps agricultural workers adapt to changing conditions, strengthen safe work habits, and reduces the risk of injuries on farms.
To encourage participation, individuals who complete a course before September 30 will have an opportunity to enter a draw for a gift card prize. The initiative aims to motivate more people to take advantage of the updated training resources.
