Canfax plans to use the input to modernize its offerings
A cattle industry service provider is asking stakeholders to weigh in on how it can improve.
Canfax, the market analysis division of the Canadian Cattle Association, is conducting a survey asking participants to share what datapoints drive decisions on individual farms and the overall beef industry.
The 14-question survey “will inform the next two years of initiatives,” the survey’s preamble says.
The first few questions ask where a participant is from, which sector they represent, and if he or she is a Canfax member.
Canfax members are redirected to a more detailed portion of the questionnaire.
One section, for example, asks survey takers to rank how Canfax addresses certain industry issues.
These include fed cattle prices, live cattle trade, the replacement heifer market, and competing beef exporters.
The sliding scale goes from “way too little” to “way too much,” and N/A.
Other questions ask about satisfaction levels related to Canfax publications, its data services, and any recommended changes.
Participants who indicate they’re not Canfax members are taken to a broader survey asking about their satisfaction levels of Canfax’s public facing information like reports from Alberta Beef Producers and Beef Farmers of Ontario.
Industry stakeholders have until July 31 to complete the survey.
July 31 is also the deadline to complete the Census of Agriculture.
