Termination timing is another key management decision. Allowing cereal rye to grow longer in spring can increase biomass, but it may also create challenges such as water competition, nitrogen tie-up, and planting difficulties for the next crop. Farmers should adjust termination timing based on weather conditions, soil moisture, and crop needs.
