One maze is a tribute to a legendary lumberjack
As the month of September continues and fall’s arrival draws closer, the U.S. fall agritourism season will kick into high gear.
Agritourism is a significant industry within the greater agriculture sector.
In 2022, for example, U.S. farms generated $1.6 billion in income, a 12.4 percent increase from 2017, USDA Census of Agriculture data says.
Part of that income comes from people trying to find their way out of elaborate corn mazes.
Here are some of the corn labyrinths people can expect to get lost in this fall.
Across the U.S., multiple farms are paying tribute to a country singer.
Corn mazes in 25 states will honor Lainey Wilson, the Country Music Association’s 2025 Entertainer of the Year.
This is part of a collaboration between The MAiZE, a corn maze consulting company, and Wilson.
At Frazier Marsh Farm in High Point, N.C., for example, the creation features a silhouette of Wilson standing on a pickup truck.
The maze design also includes a pumpkin, cowboy hat, Lainey Wilson’s name, and horseshoes.
There’s also the maze at Cornbelly’s in Spanish For, Utah.
This attraction features Wilson’s face with “Utah ♥’s Lainey” surrounding her.
A corn maze in Minnesota celebrates a larger-than-life character.
Big Springs Farm in Lanesboro has a 10-acre corn maze paying tribute to Paul Bunyan and his companion Babe, the blue ox.
According to folklore, Bunyan was 7-feet-tall with a 7-foot-stride.
For context, a John Deere 5510 tractor is roughly that height.
A farm in New York is using its corn maze to highlight a beloved children’s show.
The corn maze at Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke has a Sesame Street theme.
The 10-acre maze features Elmo and some jack-o-lanterns.
The maze is part of the Sesame Street Road Trip Across America, which helps Elmo and his friends travel to different part of the country.
And for hockey fans, a farm in Maryland is celebrating Alex Ovechkin for breaking the NHL’s goal record.
The six-acre maze at Summers Farm in Middletown features the word GR8NESS, with the number 895.
Front and center is Ovechkin in a shooting motion, with the Washington Capitals logo and the farm’s name underneath.
