The product should receive EPA registration within the next few months
U.S. farmers will have a new crop protection product available to them for the 2026 growing season.
Forcivo fungicide from Corteva will help crop producers manage foliar diseases like northern corn leaf spot, stalk rot, white mold, and southern rust, once it receives the necessary approvals.
“The fungicide has been submitted to the EPA and we expect to receive a federal label in the next 30 to 45 days,” Eric Scherder, U.S. crop protection technical lead, told Farms.com. “Once we have received the federal registration we will immediately send out for state registrations.”
The fungicide will be premixed and includes three modes of action.
The Group 3 flutriafol has systemic and curative action.
Group 7 fluindapyr is a novel SDHI and a powerhouse when it comes to rust.
And the Group 11 azoxystrobin has preventative properties.
This formulation helps farmers use the product effectively and efficiently, Scherder says.
“This product mixes well with insecticides and herbicides,” he said. “There’s a lot of flexibility to help farmers get across the field efficiently to hopefully save some dollars. At the same time, when you take the average use rate of 8oz per acre, you’re getting 40 acres per case.”
The formulation also provides up to 30-day residual activity for additional protection.
Corteva is hoping to begin taking orders from farmers in the fourth quarter of this year.
“That way we can have it hitting the ground in 2026,” Scherder said.
