WinField® United Canada strengthens CROPLAN canola offerings for 2027

WinField® United Canada has announced an expansion of its CROPLAN canola portfolio to support Canadian farmers and independent ag retailers with more reliable seed choices. As part of this move, select Brevant® commodity canola hybrids will now be offered under the CROPLAN brand.

This change is connected to an expanded licensing agreement with Corteva, which allows WinField® United to bring well-known Brevant® canola genetics into its CROPLAN seed lineup. Three canola hybrids will be rebranded and made available to growers for the 2027 growing season through independent retail channels across Canada.

CROPLAN is a trusted seed brand with a long history of performance across North America. The brand is backed by strong genetics, local agronomic expertise, and strict research standards. Each CROPLAN seed product is tested through extensive field trials conducted across Canada and supported by the Answer Plot® testing network. These trials help ensure the seeds perform well under different soil types, weather conditions, and farming systems.

“CROPLAN is an established seed brand, with a history spanning 30 years across North America. The brand has a trusted reputation, and its future is bright as it continues to expand,” said Dave Van Dam, General Manager of WinField® United Canada.

“These Brevant® hybrids are well known on Canadian farms. Bringing them into the CROPLAN portfolio strengthens the brand’s trust, offers consistency for growers, and sharpens our focus on delivering proven genetics through one trusted brand. It also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to independent ag retailers across Canada,” said Dave Van Dam.

This research-driven approach helps growers reduce risk and make confident planting decisions. By using tested data and localized results, farmers can choose seeds that fit their fields and management practices while aiming to improve productivity.

The addition of Brevant® canola hybrids strengthens the CROPLAN portfolio and provides greater consistency for growers already familiar with these genetics. It also reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting independent ag retailers by offering proven products through locally trusted channels.

Looking ahead, CROPLAN plans to continue growing its canola offerings while building a broad seed portfolio for various crops, regions, and farming styles. These seeds are supported by advanced seed treatments designed to help crops establish strong early growth and reach their full yield potential.

With this expansion, Canadian growers will continue to access familiar, high-performing canola genetics, now unified under the CROPLAN brand and delivered through trusted independent retailers.
