Indiana Gov. Mike Braun’s first bill signed into law supports farmers in the state.
House Bill 1149 requires the Indiana State Department of Agriculture to establish and maintain an online portal on its website.
The portal is designed to help farmers communicate with government and cut red tape.
It’ll have information related to funding, grant eligibility and deadlines, and tools for tracking lost farmland.
Overall, this tool provides growers with the information they need right at their fingertips.
“Hoosier farmers feed America and power our economy, and this bill makes their important job a little bit easier,” Braun told reporters while signing the bill, the Indiana Capital Chronicle reported.
