USGC Showcases Corn Protein and Leads Dialogue at CAHE 2025

The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) recently joined China’s 22nd China Animal Husbandry Expo (CAHE), where it showcased U.S. grains and advanced feed ingredients to a global audience.

With over 1,500 exhibitors and 230,000 visitors, CAHE is one of the world’s largest livestock exhibitions.

The Council’s display emphasized corn fermented protein (CFP), a plant-based, high-protein feed ingredient made from corn. It offers better digestibility, energy value, and sustainability than traditional feed options. Many Chinese stakeholders responded positively to CFP’s cost-saving and nutritional benefits.

“The U.S. Grains Council remains fully committed to our mission of developing markets, enabling trade and improving lives in China,” said Manuel Sanchez, USGC’s Director in China.

Council staff engaged directly with visitors, discussing the role of U.S. grains in China’s evolving feed sector. They also explained how U.S. products can support sustainable livestock farming and reduce reliance on imports like soybean meal.

As part of CAHE, the U.S. Agricultural Trade Office hosted a seminar on U.S. animal nutrition and swine breeding. Expert Brian Wang shared how the Council supports global grain trade and feed innovation.

Chinese researcher Dr. Zhu Zengyong also praised CFP’s value in improving feed performance alongside sorghum and other grains.

The Council capped its visit with a dinner that brought together top livestock and aquaculture leaders from firms like Haid Group, Tongwei Group, and COFCO. Discussions focused on future feed trials, product innovation, and U.S.–China cooperation.

By participating in CAHE, the Council reinforced its role in trade, opened new market opportunities, and supported China’s protein security goals through sustainable solutions.
