On June 4, 2022, Breakfast from the Farm—hosted by Farm & Food Care Ontario (FFCO) and local farmers—kicks off Ontario Local Food Week (June 4-10, 2022), at the Paris Fairgrounds in Paris, Ontario.

A family-friendly event, it offers a unique opportunity for farmers and non‐farming Ontarians to walk through exhibits of farm animals and equipment.

Visitors will once again be afforded the opportunity to talk with local farmers and producers in a real conversation about food and farming to get their questions answered.

Each attending carload of guests will also receive a gift bag of breakfast ingredients—to prepare a tasty breakfast for a family of four—including pancake mix, eggs, maple syrup, milk, butter, cheese, vegetables and more—locally-produced where applicable.

The bags will also include activities for kids and resources with information about how food is grown and produced here in Ontario.

Since 2013, farm families across Ontario have opened their farms to host Breakfast from the Farm events. These popular events have attracted thousands of urban and suburban visitors to local farms across the province.

The FFCO hosted three drive-through events in 2021 that met all COVID-19 safety guidelines. But this year’s event in Paris—the first of three throughout Ontario—will be walkable with displays, livestock, and farmers on site to answer guest’s questions.

Breakfast from the Farm is made possible with co-host Paris Agricultural Society and the support of local agri-businesses and organizations.

Event Details:

  • Date: June 4, 2022, 9AM – 12 Noon;
  • Location: Paris Fair Grounds (Entrance to the event will be located off Silver Street at the second entrance.

Farm & Food Care Ontario is a coalition of farmers, agriculture and food partners proactively working together to ensure public trust and confidence in food and farming. FFC provides a coordinated approach and credible information on food and farming in Ontario.
