Creating a Farmers.gov Account Simplifies USDA Support Access

The USDA offers farmers.gov, a single website that helps farmers, ranchers, and private forest owners find assistance programs. The site brings together resources from the Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

To access full tools, farmers create a farmers.gov account using a Login.gov login. New users select Login.gov on the farmers.gov signup page and follow steps to verify identity. Existing users log in with Login.gov credentials to complete any needed identity checks.

After logging in, the system links the account to an existing USDA customer record. If a match is found, users gain full portal access. If not, they complete a Customer Data Worksheet that fills out an AD-2047 form. This form is sent to the local USDA office, where staff create the record in seven to ten business days.

With an active customer record, farmers.gov offers many services. Users can apply for farm loans, view and pay loan balances, and track payment history. They can view cost-share help from NRCS, request conservation assistance, and print farm maps and reports. The portal also lets users export records needed for annual reporting.

Farmers.gov also lets users print important documents such as the FSA-156EZ form, Producer Farm Data Report, and detailed tract maps. Users can export data for easy sharing, pay FSA debts online, and apply for new direct loans through the Pay My Loan feature. These functions help meet USDA reporting rules and keep all farm data in one secure place.

Beyond these services, farmers.gov includes stand-alone tools. The Farm Loan Assistance Tool helps users learn about loan options and eligibility. The Disaster Assistance Tool shows disaster relief programs. The Conservation Concerns Tool helps list resource issues to discuss with NRCS experts during field visits.

Creating a farmers.gov account makes working with USDA simple and efficient. Producers can manage loans, conservation plans, and records in one place. This online portal saves time, reduces paperwork, and ensures farmers get timely support from FSA and NRCS whenever they need it.
