U.S. Leaders Unite to Support National Farm Security

Many U.S. leaders and agricultural groups are showing strong support for Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins’ National Farm Security Action Plan. This plan aims to protect American farmland and secure the nation’s food system.

Several top government officials, including the Secretary of Defense and Attorney General, say this plan helps protect national security. They agree that farmland should stay in American hands and must not be controlled by foreign adversaries. The Secretary of Homeland Security stated that food policy is key to national security and that the United States must always feed itself to remain independent.

Senators and Representatives from different states also support this plan. They are worried about foreign buyers, especially from China, owning US farmland. Some states already have laws to stop this, and leaders want stronger rules across the country.

Governors from states like Tennessee, Nebraska, and Arkansas say the plan will protect their farms and economies. Agriculture officials from states such as Iowa, Kentucky, and Georgia also praised the plan. They said protecting farmland helps ensure food safety and supports family farms.

Major farm and cattle organizations, including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and several state groups, are backing the plan. These groups agree that keeping farmland American-owned and stopping animal disease outbreaks is important for the country’s safety.

The plan also supports better monitoring of foreign investments, stronger animal health systems, and keeping critical farm supplies safe from foreign control. Leaders say these steps are needed to protect farmers, animals, and the entire food chain.
