Company expands from distributor to drone technology developer
Agri Spray Drones (ASD) has announced a major step forward in its business strategy by transitioning from a spray drone distributor to a manufacturer and agricultural technology company.
The company is using years of experience gained from working with growers, drone operators, dealers, and service providers to guide the development of new products, software, quality control systems, and autonomous technologies.
ASD revealed that its next spray drone platform is already in production. The new drone is expected to serve as the foundation for the company's future product lineup and reflects lessons learned from real-world field operations.
"We have spent years training operators, dealers, and service providers – supporting them through spray season and learning what works in the field and what creates unnecessary friction," said Taylor Moreland, founder and CEO of Agri Spray Drones. "Now, we're using those lessons to help shape the products, software and autonomous systems our customers will depend on next."
According to company leadership, years of training operators and supporting customers during spray seasons have provided valuable insights into both the benefits and challenges of agricultural drone use. Those experiences are now helping shape future innovations.
ASD's growth strategy extends beyond drone manufacturing. The company aims to improve product quality, software development, and supply chain management while strengthening connections between customer feedback and product design teams.
To support this transition, ASD has outlined a phased U.S. manufacturing roadmap:
2026: U.S.-based quality control, small-batch assembly, selected U.S.-designed components, and domestic servers.
2027: Increased assembly capabilities, U.S.-managed software, a new drone frame design, and greater use of domestic electronics.
The upcoming drone platform includes improvements designed to increase application accuracy, durability, power connectivity, and ease of maintenance.
Looking ahead, ASD is focused on creating more autonomous spray operations. Its Drone Dock system is already helping automate the refill process, reducing chemical exposure risks, and helping operators work more efficiently.
The company believes the future of agricultural drones lies not only in autonomous aircraft but also in fully integrated autonomous farming operations that simplify repetitive tasks and improve productivity.
