The Canadian Buyers Program supports trade connections

A new program opportunity is available for the 2026 Canadian Western Agribition.

The Canadian Buyers Program will provide qualified livestock and agriculture travelling from outside of the Prairie provinces with up to $1,000 to attend the show.

Applicants must meet certain criteria to qualify.

These include

  • Living in Canada but outside of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta
  • Not be registered as an exhibitor at the show
  • Have the direct financial capacity or decision-making authority to make purchases
  • Have an interest in Canadian livestock or agribusiness markets
  • Attend Agribition for a minimum of three days

This program makes it easier for stakeholders from across Canada to “connect directly with Canadian businesses and explore new opportunities within the livestock and agribusiness sectors,” a program webpage says.

Prairies Economic Development Canada, and the Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership, are providing support for the program.

Anyone interested in applying for the program must do so by Nov. 8.

The application form asks users to include which business category they fall into, which cattle breeds they’re interested in, and to select their main business area of interest.

“Canadian Western Agribition may consult with other agencies as part of the process to confirm that applicants meet the program’s qualified buyer requirements,” the webpage says.

Show reps will contact selected applicants directly.

The 55th annual Canadian Western Agribition takes place Nov. 23 to 28 at the REAL District in Regina.
