Grow Your Brand with COTA’s Organic Month Campaign

September brings an exciting opportunity for businesses to boost sales of organic products in Canada. The Canadian organic market is valued at $9.01 billion, highlighting the strong demand for organic goods. The Organic Month campaign, aimed at occasional and mid-level organic consumers, will help convert them into loyal, long-term supporters.

The Organic Month campaign, which runs in both English and French, focuses on increasing consumer trust in organic products through clear messaging, education, and active engagement with the public. The goal is to raise awareness and drive sales of organic products by promoting organic certification and logo, key symbols of trust.

As part of the campaign, the Canada Organic Trade Association (COTA) offers an enhanced Organic Month Digital Toolkit. This free resource provides businesses with educational social media assets, eye-catching graphics, and a comprehensive social media guide to maximize outreach. Retailers and brands can also access free bilingual retail materials that can be customized to align with specific store goals.

A key feature of Organic Month is its national platform for learning, including webinars, films, and contests that provide valuable insights into the organic industry. On June 23, COTA will host a webinar titled Organic Month Activation Tips for Retailers, which will help retailers, brands, and marketers optimize their participation in Organic Month.

By participating in Organic Month, businesses can differentiate themselves, build trust in organic products, and celebrate their commitment to organic values. This national initiative offers a chance for retailers and brands to engage with customers in a meaningful way and demonstrate leadership in the growing organic sector.

Meet Willy: California Farm Bureau’s 2025 Farm Dog of the Year!

We’re excited to introduce Willy, a miniature long-haired dachshund with a big heart and even bigger courage, and the Grand Prize winner of this year’s Farm Dog of the Year Contest!

Willy may be small, but he’s become an indispensable partner on owner Marshal Hagedorn’s forestry and cattle operations in Shasta, Tehama, and Siskiyou counties. Adopted in 2023, he quickly found his place on the ranch, helping manage critters, tagging along for long days in the woods, and offering unwavering companionship during demanding logging work.

Willy has even taken naturally to moving cattle, surprising calves (and more than a few full-grown cows!) with his burst of energy from the tall grass. As Marshal put it: “He goes with me everywhere every single day.”

Congratulations to Willy and his family, a perfect example of how every good farm dog, no matter the size, helps keep California agriculture running strong.
