Suterra, a division of The Wonderful Company and a global leader in biological pest control, has announced the acquisition of key product lines and research assets from Vestaron. This move aims to strengthen Suterra’s position in sustainable crop protection and expand its range of solutions available to growers.

The acquisition includes Vestaron’s well-known Spear and Basin product lines. Both products have recently received approval from the United States Environmental Protection Agency, allowing them to be used by farmers across the country. These biological products are designed to help manage crop pests while reducing the need for traditional chemical pesticides.

Along with the product lines, Suterra has also acquired important active ingredients and an ongoing research and development pipeline. This includes assets from Vestaron’s research facility located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. These resources will help Suterra continue innovation in environmentally friendly pest control solutions.

Suterra plans to begin producing its own branded version of Spear Lep later this year. The company aims to ensure a stable supply of the product while also providing technical support to growers and agricultural advisers.

"Spear Lep is already familiar to many growers and advisers," said Matthew Bohnert, President of Suterra. "We're excited to bring this product into Suterra's portfolio and continue supporting growers with reliable supply and technical expertise."

Vestaron’s leadership also expressed confidence in the transition. "Suterra has demonstrated a consistent ability to successfully scale biologically based technologies, but what makes this combination particularly compelling is the grower adoption and proven success of Spear LEP in the market," said Juan Estupinan, CEO and President of Vestaron. "We are incredibly proud of what has been built, and confident that this platform will continue to deliver even greater value to growers globally."
