6) CBP ag specialists intercept rare pest

Cyclocephala forcipulata

Customs and Border Protection ag specialists in the U.S. found a live beetle inside a shipment of jackfruit coming into the U.S. from Mexico.

USDA entomologists identified the pest as Cyclocephala forcipulata.

The insect belongs to the scarab beetle family and can cause damage feeding on plant parts.
