A Smarter Way to Size Up Your Soybean Fields in Missouri

By Ryan Milhollin

Good soybean decisions start with knowing your ground. Soil types, drainage, flood risk, nearby streams and wetlands, and weather patterns all influence yields, input costs, and long-term farm planning.

The challenge is that this information often lives across multiple government websites, each with its own login, interface, and learning curve.

That’s where the Agricultural Site Assessment Tool, or AgSite, comes in.

What Is AgSite?

AgSite (agsite.missouri.edu) is a free online tool developed by the University of Missouri that compiles key land information into a single, easy-to-read report.

Users outline a field on an aerial map, click “View Report,” and AgSite generates a site-specific report for that parcel. The tool works for any field in Missouri and across the United States, with no special software or technical expertise required.
