AgrilLife Extension Agent Receives Cattle Association’s Top Beef Award

The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, TSCRA, presented Marcel Fischbacher, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent for Moore County, the 2026 Outstanding County Extension Agent – Beef award recently in Fort Worth.

The award recognizes Texas’ most dedicated and effective local educators in cattle production who work alongside landowners to advance stewardship of land and livestock across the state. It is presented annually at the association’s membership meeting.

“Marcel Fischbacher exemplifies the critical role Extension agents play in supporting beef producers and strengthening rural communities,” Dan Gattis, TSCRA first vice president, said in a press release. “His ability to connect with producers, build meaningful programs and deliver practical, research-based education has made a lasting impact across his region.”

Beef programming in Moore County

“Marcel has done an outstanding job of meeting the needs of producers in Moore County and addressing the issues that have been identified,” said Danny Nusser, AgriLife Extension program leader for the North Region, Canyon, who nominated Fischbacher. “He is very deserving of this award for his efforts in programming toward beef and dairy education.”
