Michigan State University Extension on Aug. 26, 2026, for the Michigan Water Quality Management Forum and Field Showcase at the Kellogg Biological Station (KBS). This free, half-day event brings together policymakers, watershed organizations, commodity groups, conservation professionals, farmers, agricultural service providers, researchers and students.
The event will begin with a series of short presentations covering important topics related to water quality and conservation. Topics include water quality management, soil erosion, updates from the AgClimate Resiliency Project, soil health and soil carbon, regenerative agriculture, local water quality improvement efforts, and conservation projects from Michigan and Ohio.
The second half of the event will feature hands-on field demonstrations and tours. Participants will visit and learn about:
- No-till production systems
- Cover crops combined with no-till practices
- Conventional corn-soybean production systems
- Rainfall simulator demonstrations
- Edge-of-field water quality monitoring systems
- Phosphorus filter technology
