Canadian Equipment Manufacturer Acquires Germany’s ATLAS Group to Boost Growth in Cranes, Machinery, and Material Handling Solutions.

Buhler Versatile Inc., one of Canada’s leading agricultural equipment manufacturers and a member of the ASKO Group, has finalized an agreement to acquire the operating business of Germany-based ATLAS Group.

The notarized agreement, completed on June 8, 2026, marks a significant step in the company’s long-term expansion strategy and strengthens its presence in the European construction equipment market.

The acquisition includes the operating assets of Atlas GmbH, Atlas Spare Parts GmbH, Atlas Group Services GmbH, Atlas Kompakt GmbH, and the shares in Atlas Cranes UK Ltd.

By integrating ATLAS into its operations, Buhler Versatile aims to combine its global manufacturing capabilities and dealer network with ATLAS’s expertise in construction machinery, cranes, and material handling equipment.

"ATLAS is a highly respected brand with more than a century of engineering excellence and a strong reputation among customers across Europe and beyond," said Zafer Ozbalaban, President of Buhler Versatile Inc.

"This agreement represents an important milestone in our long-term growth strategy. We are excited about the opportunities this brings and we look forward to building on ATLAS's strong foundation while supporting its continued success as part of the Buhler Versatile and ASKO family."

The ASKO Group, a family-owned industrial organization employing more than 2,500 people across Türkiye, Canada, and the United States, considers ATLAS a strategic addition to its growing portfolio of agricultural and construction equipment businesses.

The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals under Germany’s Foreign Trade and Payments Act. Discussions with the works council regarding personnel matters are also ongoing, with the goal of reaching socially responsible outcomes.

ATLAS entered self-administered restructuring proceedings in February 2026 but has continued operating throughout the process. The agreement with Buhler Versatile is expected to support business continuity, retain a substantial portion of the workforce, and provide a solid foundation for the company’s long-term growth and future development.
