AED's Policy Conference and Advocacy Day Held Despite Government Shutdown

On October 20-22, Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) hosted its 2025 AED Policy Conference & Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. Despite the federal government shutdown, more than 70 equipment industry leaders from across the country participated in the event, advocating for AED’s pro-growth policy agenda.

Attendees heard from policy experts representing partner organizations including the American Farm Bureau Federation, the American Road and Transportation Builders Association, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the National Grain and Feed Association as well as more than two dozen leading members of Congress, including House Rules Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), Vice Chairman of the House Republican Conference Blake Moore (R-Utah), and House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-Wis.). The event also featured a meeting at the White House with administration officials to discuss trade and infrastructure.

In total, AED members met with nearly 100 House and Senate offices discussing tariffs, right to repair, agriculture policy, and surface transportation reauthorization.

Gowan Canada is partnering with Geco Strategic Weed Management to help Canadian growers take a strategic approach to weed control through data-driven prediction and planning.

Geco’s technology uses data and AI to map where weeds have been over the past five years and predict where patches are likely to emerge next season. These insights allow farms and retailers to plan ahead and target actions in the most challenging areas.

“Our technology enables the question: if you could know where your most problematic patches are and where they are spreading to, what could you do differently? That’s what our technology makes possible,” said Greg Stewart, CEO of Geco. “Many of our farms are already using our prescriptions along with Gowan products, so this collaboration is a natural next step.”
