Farm Equipment & Fastline Marketing Group Partner to Launch ‘News IQ’ Quiz

BROOKFIELD, Wis. — The editors of Farm Equipment, with the support of Fastline Marketing Group, are excited to announce the Farm Equipment News IQ Quiz.

This twice-monthly quiz offers farm equipment professionals an interactive platform to stay informed and connected with industry developments in real time. By focusing on current industry news, trends and innovations, the quiz provides readers with an opportunity to test their knowledge and deepen their understanding of the agricultural machinery industry.

“We’re always trying to find new ways to connect our ag machinery audience with the news affecting their businesses,” says Kim Schmidt, executive editor of Farm Equipment. “This quiz will allow the industry to engage with events as they happen in a completely new way.”

The Farm Equipment community will be tasked with answering 6-8 questions based entirely on their knowledge of topics covered by Farm Equipment. Following their submission, each participant will receive an emailed “report card” to see how they fared relative to their peers, and one lucky winner who aces their quiz will receive a free giveaway.

The outside-the-box thinking and creative way of connecting with the ag audience is what intrigued Dean Barke, president of Fastline Marketing Group, about the opportunity to partner with Farm Equipment.

Farm Equipment has put together a unique, new way to connect with its audience,” says Barke. “We’re excited to partner with them on the News IQ Quiz to have some fun ‘testing’ the industry and help further educate them on ag’s hottest topics, issues and trends as well.”

FLEECED! Sheep Shearer Hands Over Clippers!

Video: FLEECED! Sheep Shearer Hands Over Clippers!

It's sheep shearing day at Ewetopia Farms! ?? Our Dorset lambs and ewes are getting fleeced — and for the first time, our shearer hands over his clippers to a beginner. We finish shearing the last of our adult ewes and this year’s Dorset ewe lambs.

From moving the sheep between barns, loading them into chutes, and watching the wool come off, this is always one of the most satisfying days on the farm. But this video has a twist — we welcomed a new helper, Gian, who’s not only lending a hand but also learning how to shear! With guidance from our experienced shearer, he got a crash course in sheep shearing and even tried his hand at shearing a couple of lambs himself.

You’ll see firsthand how both teacher and student handled this unique challenge. Shearing is more than just removing wool — it’s about sheep health, comfort, and giving us a closer look at the flock. It’s always amazing to see the transformation from woolly sheep to freshly shorn ewes and lambs.
