Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan is inviting people to experience Open Farms Days coming up on August 8 and 9.
About 38 participating farms across the province will host and show the public how their operation works.
The event is designed to "bridge the gap between consumers and local food production meaningfully", says a news release from Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan.
One option is the bus tour, an all-inclusive experience with two buses departing from Saskatoon and one from Swift Current on Saturday, Aug. 8. Tickets for adults are $30 and for youth - 15 years of age and under - are $15 each.
Another option is the self-guided tour with curated regional itineraries provided by Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan.
"All the host locations have something free for you to go and experience at every stop, so whether you're going up to Wander's Tiny Farm or you're going down to the Seven Meadows by Regina Beach, there's something for you to go and experience and learn about at each location," adds Ashley Stone, Coordinator of Open Farm Days. "Their hours and the dates that they're participating are on our website under "Visit a Farm," and you can go to each host profile."
The organization notes the even continues to grow as last year drew over four thousand visitors.
