President Trump signed an executive order instituting a temporary suspension of countervailing duties applied to imported phosphate. In response to this development, Iowa farmer and Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) President Mark Mueller released the following statement:
“This news is a relief for Iowa’s corn growers, who have faced continually rising costs and market uncertainty for far too long. Fertilizer prices have become a barrier to profitability, driven higher by market consolidation and supply chain challenges.
